VS Code

Requires VS Code 1.102 or newer.

Add the server

Create .vscode/mcp.json in your project root:

VS Code uses servers, not mcpServers, and needs the explicit "type": "http".

VS Code opens browser authorization on first use and stores the credential outside this file, so .vscode/mcp.json is safe to commit.

Reload the window, open Copilot Chat in agent mode, and ask for something live. Hive’s tools appear in the tool picker once discovery completes.
